'08 600RR vs. '08 R6 (no, not a race)
so a friend of mine has a '08 R6, and i just recently got a '08 600RR. well a few nights ago we traded bikes for a couple miles and here's my thoughts on the two.............
R6- guages are red/black. its touch at night to look down at them and immideatly focus on whatever you're looking at (time/speed/temp).
600RR- neutral antique orange guages, lol.
R6- when cruising at 60 in 6th and cracking the throttle it doesnt pick up power until around 80, i guess b/c of the long gears, the powerband is a bit higher.
600RR- cruising at 60 in 6th and cracking the throttle......itLAUNCHES like a rocket!
R6- brakes arent as responsive.
600RR- brakes can stop on a dime!
R6- seat is more leveled, and pretty comfortable.
600RR- seat is more at a angle and forces you to the tank, but still pretty comfy.

i basiclly have an 08 r6..my buddy baught it dropped it once and doesnt come over to ride it anymore (he lives in the barracks i live out on town) so it has become my 2nd bike it has 1500mi 5 of which he put on.. after riding it for 20 min my wrist start to hurt the brakes are horrible and untill atleast 8grand its has no power and is slow revving. it also feels much heavier than my cbr and i really dont like the seat, i cant stand flat footed on it im 5'11" and have never had that prob b4. however my wife does like the passenger seat more than my cbr, except that she feels higher on it. heres alink to my initial thoughts after riding it the first time https://cbrforum.com/m_554371/tm.htm
I too rode one of the new R6's, but wasn't that impressed. I found myself instantly wanting to get back onto the RR. The new Kawasaki's aren't that bad, but ugly as ****. And even though the Suzuki's are rather decent bikes, I still couldn't own one because just about everyone I cannot stand has one. So it looks like I'll be sticking with Honda for a while.
i have to agree that the new kawi doesnt seem like that bad of a bike for a couple of rides, my friends all have the new zx 6r. they seem fun but i know that they dont stay that way, they are uncomfortable as hell, they are ugly as ****e, they click like hell and therefore have valve problems, and they are complicated as **** to work on. it makes me kinda sad to know that there arent alot of bikes out there that are really worth the money, but it makes me happy that honda makes such an amazingbike and i am blessed to be hooked to their genius.
yea, my buddy just totaled his 06 600RR, he got rear ended, and bought a 08 R6 yellow flame scheme, i got to ride it today, wasn't really comfortable on it cause it felt really top heavy, didn't get on it really hard but from what i could tell it didn't have much bottom end like you guys have been sayin, im stayin w/ the hondas, hopefully gettin a 1000RR this winter
