07-08 front brake rotors

RE: 07-08 front brake rotors
Are you sure the rotors fit from 07 and up? I was told that the rotors changed size for the 07-08 600RR, but that the years 03-06 are interchangable. I looked into this because I recently did a front end swap on my 04 to the inverted forks and I was told that the 07-08 rotor size changed minimally, and would not work on the older 600RR*s. Of course, I am not 100% sure and if these guys know, then listen to them.
Also, the newer the rotor, the lighter it is. I've heard that there is like a 3-4 lb difference b/t the 03-04 rotors and the 07-08 rotors.
If you need a set of front rotors, I'm about to have a set of 04 front rotors ready fro sale...my bike is very minty and there is nothing wrong with them.
PM me if your interested...

RE: 07-08 front brake rotors
I'm a 100% sure - I've done it.
2003/2004 = 310mm W/ Black centers
2005/2006 = 310mm W/ Gold centers
2007/2008 = 310mm W/ Black centers
All of them also have the same bolt pattern, blade height & offset.
But RSP919's actaully wrong about the 1000RR rotors...
The 04/05 1000rr rotorsare a direct bolt on. The 06+ however uses 320mm rotors, so they will bolt on to a 05+ 600RR wheelBUT to actaully use themyou will need a 5mm caliper spacer for the stock calipers to work without hitting.
jfunkRR, Whoever told you the newer ones weigh less is full of it... The rotors all weigh the same +/- an ounce or two. The Wheels on the other hand that's a different story, the 07/08 weigh about 2 lbs (front) & 3.5lbs (rear) less than the 03 - 06 wheels, and the Front wheels will NOT interchange between the the 03- 06 & the 07/08.

^^ Well, there you have it... ^^
...and maybe it was the weight of the rotors and calipers together?? I don't know, don't remember, and don't care... I put waves on my bike... but that's some good info there Jason... I'll have to remember to ask you tech questons in the future, lol!!

I don't know anything on this matter but I'd trust Jason. Here's a little link i found though stating something about the weight savings:
