Default '05RR....DUMPED

Well was coming back from work last night(literally 2 blocks from home) so when i go to and from work i dont wear boots or my leathers 1)cause of the distance and 2) cause people at my work are slobs and i dont want my 700$ in gear being screwed up by there lazyness. Anyways was leaving work at 6pm it's about 33 degrees out with a windchill of 19 i turn out no traffic roll out of the parking lot, Roll on the throttle the *** end cuts loose swerves to the right then hooks up and throws me hitting head first then skidding across the pavement ripping my shoe off and into my foot..ended up 10+ feet from the bike dunno what happened routine acceleration but it cut loose, dunno if i rolled through antifreeze, grease, etc. Broke my foot, hurt my back, left forearm, wrist, knee, hip, ankle. My new Shoei Rf1000 diabolical2 helmet is toast did roughly 2 grand worth of damage. Luckily a passer by was a fellow rider and picked up my bike for me and assisted me out of the street until the paramedics+firefighters came...Just not a good night. I'll post pics later it damaged the rear cowl, lower and mid left cowls, front cowl, clutch, mirror, snapped off the turn signal, snapped off the peg, and the shifter ****, clutch case, and several cracks in left cowl. Oh and the handleweight, this is all after it was hit by a car in a parking lot two weeks prior and dumped on it's other side!!!

Sorry for the long post.

Sorry to hear that -- glad you're mostly o.k. though. Unfortunately the current 600RR's have as much power as the 1000's did only a few years ago -- power + cold tires = sliding back side. Get a list of everything you need and have Limpy get it for you -- he does right by CBRForum members. Good luck and I hope you heal quickly.

Man I hate to hear it when bike riders get hurt especially when there is no good reason like being reckless. Not to preach to you but lesson learned for everyone else, wear complete gear always. I once road with regular tennis shoes and without my textile jacket in the summer, I was so paranoid I didn't enjoy the ride.

I pray you heal fast and proper.

God speed,

sorry about the wreck. just shows that anything can happen at any time. doesn't sound like there was anything you could have done to avoid it. that's what sucks the most.

It's tough learning the hard way, but you sound like you got off pretty good. +1 for everything written about cold tires and cold pavemant...take it real slow.
