05 cbr600rr bogs and dies when heavy acceleration or after heated up
I bought this bike a couple days ago and don’t know what’s going on. When I test rode the bike it ran fine except died when heavy acceleration but fires back up. But after getting on the highway and headed home it complete bogged out and died so I let it cool down for a while then tried it again and it fired back up but soon died again so I had it towed home. Anyone know the issue/issues here? Please help.
What happens right before it dies?
Does it cut off inmediately without warning?
Why buy a bike that does not fully function when testdriving it? Must have been a steal to risk that.
However I personally think it is an electronic problem if it dies without warning.
But when it dies under heavy acceleration I would look into a combination of the fuel pump in combination with the fuel pressure regulator.
You can remove the vacuum hose of the fuel presure regulator. If fuel comes out then the regulator is dead.
Does the fuelpump prime when putting the bike on contact? If the bike stays completely silent when turning on the bike before starting you might want to check the fuelpump.
Also camshaft sensors could be sensitive to temperature, but that does not explain (yet) why the bike cuts of under heavy load.
Unless the timing chain tensioner died and the timing suddenly changes when under heavy load. Also temperature could be a thing when the chain heats up.
you have a lot to check,
Good luck.

Hi Individuals: I have a 2005 CBR 600RR. I just purchased a Force Officer USB. I introduced everything and took it for a twist. Everything ran incredible for the hour I rode it. Sometime thereafter I got back on it, and took it out once more. Presently everytime I draw near to 10k rpm the oil light goes ahead and a F1 appears on the screen and it simply passes on. I have checked the oil and it is fine. It has never done this so I would think it has something to do with the PC.
