How do i get to the stock signals to take them off! Please help me.

 

U have to take the fairings off,,, the back one is fairly easy,,, I havent done the front ones yet...

 

The front ones are the ones i really want to no right now. thanks

 

You have to take the front fairing off

 

thanks........but do you no what bolts and stuff? i don't want to mess this up or take off stuff i do not have to......side fairings too......headlight....etc?

im not gonna lie, dealing with the front fairing is a HUGE pain, but to get it off you need to take off the 2 mirror mounts, and the 3 bolts down each side of the bike where it connects to the mid fairing. taking off the ram air duct covers is necessary as well. then once the fairing is off to get to the signals you need to take out the ram air ducts to get to the bolt. oh also after you unscrew the fairing, to detach it youll need to unplug the wire harness that connects to your gauge and 2 wire harness on the left side.

 

wow......this is going to suck......it seems like the rr is really wierd in the way they constructed it. it isn't very consumer friendy.....thank you for your help.

 

well i got my signals on but now i cannot line up anything! I have everything on but the right side fairing....the top bolt is crocked and i do not no what is causing this! errrrrrr all i want to do is ride....but my bike is in peices, please help.

 

They are very consumer friendly. Consumers ride them and thats what they work for. Mechanics take them apart. Lining up the fairings can be a pain. It really just takes aloooooooot of patience. Really hard to give tips on here about lining fairings up except take your time and work one step at a time. if you rush, you end up with a sloppy resto, broken parts and broken ego (trust me).

 

Its really not to much. Take the fairings and ram air ducts out. The fairing covering the ram air duct kind of pops out(be careful) You shouldn't have to disconnect any plug wires or anything. Once the ram air ducts are out you'll see the stud for the turn signal. There is a QD on the turn signal wires, undo that and remove the nut from the stud and pull turn signal out. It might take you about an hour to get both of them out. It's not that bad, just remember to put everything back in the way they came out.
