I know the ports on the 05/06 cylinder head are meant to be smaller than the 03/04 but does anyone know the best way to tell them apart..
The heads I have seen have cast numbers MEE-1, MEE-1G, MEE-2, MEE-2G anyone know the difference ???

agh crap, i dont know, do you have the 03/04? ive got an 05/06 cylinder head, i could take a bunch of pics and you can compare to yours to see if you can find a difference

Cheers I have an 05, I could do to have a pic of the 04 ports... Not sure how subtle the difference is though..

cheer tomp, i have the part numbers but these are no where on the head so can't tell from this..

 

If there is a difference I doubt you'll be able to tell from a picture. Unless there is a huge difference and from what I know there is not much of one.

 

i figured if he just wanted to be able to tell the difference between an 04 and an 05 just by looking, that there may be an obvious differencein the casting, but ifhe's looking specifically for port dimensions, then you're right, a pic wouldnt help

 

so what sort of difference would the port size be ? mm's , cm's ??

I would have thought there would be an easy way from the cast number / serial but it appears maybe not..

 

holycrapitshassell could you take some pics of the intake ports on your 05 and the casting number starting MEE- I'd be very gratefull...

Does anyone have an 04 they head/engine they could do the same with ?
