Default Is it worth it??

Hey guys, getting back into the bike world. I don't know much about the cbr600 f4 or f4i but I came across a bike I'd like to purchase.

The guy is somewhat local to me and he's selling a 99f4 for 3300. It has just over 20k in mileage. He just put new tires/oil change and a slip on. Do you guys think it's worth it? whats the dis advantages w/the f4/f4i

thanks in advance.

Make sure the title is clear. How are the platsics? $3300 is a great price if it is in good shape.

He said it has a couple of scratchs, nothing insane. Clear title.

It sounds like a heck of a deal to me from here. You may want to ask him if you can bring it in to a mechanic, just to double-check. But it's a heck of a price for the year.

As far as a ny advantages or disadvantages of the F4, it's minimal. The F4 is still carbuerated, while the F4i is fuel-injected (no choke). The F4 only came with the 1 piece "banana" seat, and the F4i had the optional 2-piece seat. I have ridden both, and while the banana seat doesn't look as cool, it is actually more comfortable.

20K is about the time a LOT of people sell their sportbikes. Granted, this is a Honda and I'm sure it could double that, but i would be weary because most sportbike enthusiasts sell their bikes at 20K. I'd offer 3000 and try and deal it at 3150.

I got mine for 3700, with 32000 miles on it, the title says 44000 is there a reasoning for that big of a gap? Per the title and per the mileage display?

If the title says 44000 and the gauges say 32000, then someone probably replaced the gauges at one time.

I was also thinking that maybe they just put down a different amount to save insurance money or something? There is a screw missing below the cluster in the middle that holds the 2 pieces of plastic under the gauges that is missing, could that be a tale tell sign of replacement gauges?

yes, 99% of the time, factory screws/bolts dont fall out on there own.
