Man thank you, I haven't gotten to try it yet but I will in a couple days. You helped me make sense of something that wasn't making sense to me. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use each of those grounds coming out of the wiring harness to the (hot) wire(s) you know yellow (left turn) with the ground, etc. Just so I am sure I am clear though you are saying that I only need to run one of the grounds, whichever I choose, to the black (gnd) on the new tail light and the rest just cap off or something? Then test and if working button up and ride? Thank you again and thanks for the support with this I will put up a pic when I get it done to show.

When I said cap off the rest in the previous response I only meant cap off the extra ground wires. Obviously I know the other wires, need to be used. Just wanted to clarify on what I said real quick.

Yep, you are correct you only need one of the ground wires. just trim the bare wire off the rest of the solid greens and tape them up so it looks clean and forget about them. You will only need the 5 wires out of the bikes harness, one hooked to each wire on the tail light and that's it. Good luck, let me know how you make out and if you run into any snags let us know. post up those pics when you are done!

ok so no dice here are more pics to help... maybe? So I did what you said Diesel but now I have 3 Bl/Br that I am mostly certain were supplemental Grnds for the incandescent bulbs and license lights so I am going to go pick up a test light cause I am just not sure that I didn't screw something up or something. My brain just doesn't work in an electrical sense it only works for mechanical. Anyway here are the pics.
So this is the main ground coming out of the taillight itself and the brake/taillight

This is the turn signals

This is the 3 suspect Bl/Br wires that as I said I think were supplemental for the bulbs, what do you make of this?

I will look into those 3 wires at lunch when i am home and see what they are. Are they in the factory harness? Do you get anything out of the light at all? If you get nothing out of it makes me think it might be a ground issue. Let me know and i will respond in a couple hours about the 3 wires

Those 3 are from the stock harness like I said they were some kind of supplemental ground or something for the bulbs. This is the bulb that I just cut off the bike so its 3 wires are Brown,White/Black and a ground of Black/white.

ok, I just pulled my tail off my bike to confirm. in that last pic from your post this morning the Black wire with Brown tracer should be connected to the yellow wire from your taillight. I see you have a green wire connected to it in the pic above.disconnect that one and hook the black w brown tracer to it.
