Wink What do brakes cost?

I think im going to be needing new brakes this spring on my 2001 CBR. I was wondering if anyone knew off hand what i could expect to pay.

roughly $100 to the front n rear if you do it yourself.

I think my gafier pads were 35 dollars eat set... sooo 3 sets....

105 dollars... easy to do by yourself, just remember to pop the top of the res other wise you will be dealing with pistons going back and forth on ya.

PG is correct. Factory HONDA pads are great pads. They serve me well. Changing your own pads is a fairly easy & straight forward job, which is good to know compared to what the dealerships cost! :O

Do any of you know of a website that goes through how to change the brakes front and rear?? This is my first bike and would look into doing it by myself but want something to read up on or look at before i do it. Thanks for any help.

not off hand, but prolly is something on youtube and I know its been covered on here in text at least, try the search feature

Good one PG! ;-) Its still only about $100 for fact Honda pads.

nmutroy: Changing pads is a fairly easy job if you're patient. There are sources online for downloading the Honda factory service manual. Sorry, don't know those offhand but I'm sure w/ a little research, you can find it. Also, the Clymer manual is a good resource as well.

Thank you....im going to look into just purchasing the pads and doing them myself, or with the help of a friend or two. I think we can get it done.
