Default week old bike put me in the ER!

Well i just got my 2000 f4 about a week ago and last night i went for a ride and was having fun with it and i took a corner too hard. i guess my bike fliped cuz both of my mirrors are broke off and thank god for frame sliders i only have a few scraches on the sides. other then that the seat is torn, cluch handle is bent and windshild is cracked.. i think im pretty lucky cuz my bike went into a bankment with dirt so it wasnt to bad.

As for me i shot off my bike and a mailbox broke my fall( now i have to pay for that too) i guess someone called 911 cuz i was just laying there and a ambulance showed up. it was a cold night so i had 4 sweaters and my motorcycle jacket on and 3 pairs of pants so other then a bloody nose im was ok! i now have respeact for bikes! and i guess im lucky so have a easy crash and not a badone to make me be more carefull..

thanks for reading! hope my experence helps someone else!

Was this your first bike? Sorry to hear about your crash, you really do need to respect the bike.....they have a lot of power. My f4 was/ is my first bike and I have been taking it really slow. Glad to hear your ok.

This is the part that makes me shake my head. You should have had respect before.

Glad to hear you're not hurt too bad, the stupid tax isn't high, and most of all you will be more careful each time you ride. (not just next time, but every time.)

I remember my first low side. I was going around a corner and had shifted down a gear to late, causing the back end to slide out. A minor scratch is all the bike got and a bruised ego for me. Thank god I was not traveling to fast and it was on a 1989 Suzuki GS 500E. It was not that I didn't respect the bike, it was just lack of experiance.
Glad that your ok and the bike didn't get to much done to her. People might think it is just an F4, but you have to remember the old girls have still got some power and when you cross her, she will hit back.

Yeah it sucks, you didn't come out to bad though. It's a hard lesson to learn. As someone wise once said, there are 2 kinds of riders, ones that have been down and ones that are going down! Now that you've got that out of the way, keep it right side up!

Its good that you werent hurt too bad, you very easily could have been killed. seriously, think about that everytime you thumb the starter. one wrong move and your dead. you have been given one chance, dont count on another.

I guess it takes alittle guts for one of your first posts to be about you crashing, as long as your willing to aknowledge your mistakes and learn, you might be alright

glad to hear you and the bike are o.k. One of my first posts was a similar one. Not lack of respect, it was lack of experience and lack of knowledge of what wet roads do traction.

I'd also be riding right now, however the Blizzaks for my motorcycle are still on backorder! (screw all of you southerns and your damn 'above freezing' tempertures)
