Default tire size

got a question for you guys. my buddy just sold his 98 f3. he has a brand new front tire he didnt sell. michelin pilot road 3 i think it is. specs on that are 120/60/17. and i know f4's are 120/70/17. so is that difference of 10% on the sidewall height really gonna make a big difference? ive searched a little bit on people that have made the little conversion and ive came up with it affecting handling a little? or is bigger always better haha

the front will sit a little lower, but not much. i've ran both sizes on mine and the 120/60 felt pretty good for street riding. if its a good deal, try it. you may like it....

gotcbr, although id like to stay stock and i def will for the rear. its a nice tire hes got ($130ish value) that he's giving me for $100 and he owes me $400 so essentially free haha. just seeing if you have a good reason not to do this. i wouldnt want to do anything dangerous but this seems like such a negligible change because it is just for street use not racing or the track.

120/70 is optimal for handling w/ the 180/55 rear.

Negligible changes do affect handling but as long as you are aware of that, proceed w/ vigor.

Since this is a tire thread.. i got a good one for you. I went to put a set of pilot powers i got used (still got the tets) and the front tire is a 16" rim..?.. i know that isnt right, so... will it hurt me to run it with the 16" till i can find/afford the proper rim??

The rim is 16". No idea what its from. A friend of mine mentioned a 900rr.??. Can someone confirm ir deny this? Whay can i look for? Doesnt seem like very noticeable markings on it, nor that i can make out looking through the rotors.
If i can digure out what this one is from i can sell it off and use that to get the proper one.

Sorry, no way to know w/o pictures, markings, etc.

Get the proper one anyway. Sell the other one off later.
