Default sync'd carbs now issue

Long story short
I had my carbs cleaned and i put them back on my bike and i only have a single Vac gauge so i did them one by one by one dubble and tripple checked them they all are within the same spec ..

took my bike out and its guts less i had a stock F4 just walk away on me .
bike seems to run like crap . almost sounds like its missing but im positive its not . has a odd "dead" sounding stroke hard to explain .

just to clear some thing up i ran the bike after i put the carbs on before i syncd the carbs .. and i could crack the throttle and the bike would lift up .
so i know its not that some thing was wrong with the carb cleaning ..

any ways any ideas what could have went wrong ?

Thanks

You need to get them re synced all at the same time. If you check them with the right tool I will bet they are off. Either that or maybe you knocked a vaccum line off and didn't see it. My $$$ would go on re syncing the carbs with the right tool though.

im not disagreeing that my method was right or wrong .. but theres been a few tutorials online on how to sync 4 carbs with 1 vac guage .
when i check each carb the vac is spot on to the next .
bike sounds like it has a massive cam in it .

Also its been terrible on gas !!!
I pulled the plugs and they were dark dark brown/ black so its running way to rich .

ill try redoing the carbs with a manometer

Build one your self.

This can be expanded to fit a 4 cyl.

It would lift? I can't get my F4 to lift even under full throttle. The front might get a little light but that's it. How heavy are you (I'm at 200)? Did it lift before the cleaning? I wonder if mine needs a cleaning even after putting an additive in the fuel a few times. I ride a lot and use good fuel, the bike hasn't been sitting for longer than a week without riding in a year.

Also, I've been postponing synching my carbs because I have to buy the tool to do so. How will I know if it needs synching (it probably does, I'm close to 17k in one year) and what can I expect after? (Better mileage? More power? Less vibrations?

Forget any sensors, tubes or anything? I had less power recently due to a loose plug.

mind you i have gearing and exhaust and filter .. i could roll on and snap the throttle and have it lift up and hold a fair ways off the ground .
im about 175lbs ..

my bike seems to not be running rite on 2 cyl .. 1&2 i cover the carb so no air can get in and no diff ... and i pull the coil off and it still runs the same .. but if i do that stuff to cyl 3&4 it stalls out ..

now i have tested voltage at coil and its getting proper voltage and its getting fuel ..
i put new plugs in and also swapped around the coils and its still doing it ..
so maybe it had nothing to do with what i did just some other issue has come up .

as for cleaning i noticed a massive diff when i ran "seafoam" threw the gas it made my bike run 100x better can pick it up at napa for 12$ well worth it ! ..
ya dont really know if it needs to be syncd just have it done .. ya should notice the bike to be a bit snappyer better gas mileage helps take out dead spots so i have found in the past ..

There's no reason in the world that the carbs can't be synch'd properly with just a single gauge, though one can perform that work improperly.

Since/if you're totally confident that isn't the issue, then I propose that something got reassembled improperly after the cleaning. A vac (or PCV) line left hanging perhaps, or something of the kind. Once you find and correct that, though, you may want to re-synch the carbs. Trying to synchronize them when something else is amok is likely to de-synch them. Good luck!

i agree .. Im a auto Mechanic and use single Vac gauge to sync carbs on old cars with out a issue .

iv gone over my bike with a fine tooth comb and cant find any cause for my issue .
the electrical system has proper voltage threw out , the coils are good , plugs are new and still yet if i unplug coil 1&2 it dont make any difference..
the bike back fires at idle every few seconds ..

Is your 20km solenoid opening? It does sound like a vacuum issue of some sort. Also a firm believer of not using seafoam... it killed my cafe racer... the engine seems to grow dependent on it like it's a 20 rock of crack!

UAN he's talking about a power wheelie which is relatively easy in 1st/2nd when you bounce the front end as crack the throttle. i have had my bike lift the front on my only 3 times under normal full throttle (no bounce) and both those nights were in the 50's, but I'm also only 160lbs.

That is quite peculiar...

I wish I could be of more specific assistance to you. On my F4, I've found on a couple occasions that I've routed a hose or wire just out of place somehow before, and when I install the airbox and fuel tank, something gets pushed aside or pinched just enough to cause me a problem. I can't always even determine for certain what I did wrong, but disassembling & reassembling it has corrected the issue. It seems like you have the skill and training to chase those kinds of issues, so I'm sure you'll find it, but I empathize with your frustration right now.
