Swinging arm problem

Swinging arm problem
Hi,
Got an issue with my swinging arm on my CBR600FX (F4). Basically, I crashed the bike years ago and fitted a replacement swinging arm then. However, now that the bike's nearly roadworthy and rideable after a load more work recently, I've discovered an issue with the swinging arm in that there's a significant clunk through the bike when applying power on/off.
I'm thinking it could be bearings but it could be some missing bolts, shims etc. as I can see some threads between the arm and frame on the right hand side of the bike. Is it normal for there to be some threads exposed?
Any advice, diagrams, pictures would be much appreciated. Feels like I've come so close to riding again after a long absence and bitterly disappointed to discover this issue and desperate to resolve it.
Cheers.

@jasperhiggins Hey there and welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone with an F4 will be able to take some photos for you. Having a Swingarm not fitted correctly could be the death of you... lol right? Take a look through this site and have a look at the parts that should be there and in what order they're assembled. Knowing how it's supposed to go together is half the battle.
