Default Swingarm spools on an F4?

Was wondering if anyone has drilled into their swingarm to mount a set of spools? I wanted to do this so that the bike will be more stable while it is on my pitbull stands. My driveway has a slight incline and when I use my swingarm stands the rubber on my stands slowly slides down the swingarm and ends up against the can. This happens if I use the rear stand by itself and when I use the front stand with it. I am just afraid it is just matter of time until the bike will tip over, if I don;t do something. The only problem is I am having a hard time talking myself into drilling into the swingarm.....it just makes me a little uneasy.

if you do decide to put some on your swing arm make sure that the one on the exhaust side is not going to hit the muffler when the rear shock compresses.

Fireplug, deffinately listen to Murph, make sure you have the clearence. May I suggest taking the bike to a local welder and have a small aluminum bracket's tigged on undernieth the swingarm? Then you can just drill the holes, tap it and slap on some spools on. The ones that fit the 600rr are 8mm, they should work perfectly. Purchase the spools you want before you go to a welder, let him see what you want to put on and where, his expertise will put them in the best/safest place. I can't see something like that costing to much? The thought of drilling holes in my swingarm would concern me too, I wouldn't want to mess with the structural integrity of the swingarm. Dunno, just another avenue to consider.

another option that would be easier would to have someone weld a bead of aluminum across the bottom part of the swing arm so the once the stand hits it, it will stop sliding any further. or you can just JB Weld which would be a lot easier and cost about $5. just a thought.

Well, since you have the welder out anyways, spend the 15 minutes making brackets and then weld them on.
