Nice! I also like the fox.. I just sold mine after owning it for almost 20 years.. Is that silver or the 87-88 gray?

Just done a major service, checked all the valve clearances, spot on perfect, drained all the coolant, brake fluid, oil etc etc, replaced with quality stuff.... it's running like a weapon now, really is running quicker and smoother it's untrue... so as a summary...

  • Valve clearances checked and spot on,
  • All fluids drained and refilled,
  • All cables and brackets lubed and checked,
  • K&N Chrome Oil Filter filtered,
  • K&N Air Filter fitted,
  • SportSprox Ali/Steel two tone rear sprocket fitted,
  • Renthal front sprocket and gold chain fitted,
  • Cam Chain Tensioner checked,
  • Rebalanced the Carbs to match the air filter,
  • Front brake calipers pistons cleaned so zero grab now as I noticed a little "grab" when pushing the bike out the garage

Have to admit, this air filter is EPIC, its now got an induction sound like a supercharger whenever you blip the throttle... it's running so good now... well chuffed.... what ya think of the new chain and sprocket? I've got some black anodised sprocket bolts on their way as the old ones kinda spoil the effect a little...

I like the way that sprocket looks!

There's a great satisfaction in doing maintenance & knowing its good to go. :-)

Yeah cheers man, hopefully I'll get some better shots in the sun to show it off better. Fantastic design isn't it... only cost £52 in the UK, so thought stuff it, give it a whirl as it looked so nice... will report back on wear over the miles... since owning the bike in May10th, I've done 4,100 miles so it's now getting some proper use and hopefully going to book a track day for later this year to get some expert tips and training on getting more lean. I've got about 5mm of chicken strips left but it's quite hard getting that last bit on normal roads in the UK.

Yeah I intend to do as much work as I can really, certainly for the maintenance side... there is a good feeling when you sit back knowing you've done all the work... saves money as well.

The only thing I'm thinking now on the bike to do is sort the front suspension as it looks a little scruffy, but thinking maybe replacing with some aftermarket ones, make it look a little more modern at the front end... not sure, but don't think I'll be doing much else to it looks wise now, it's knowing when to stop me thinks... don't want it looking messy!
