Running warm

Hello, I'm new to this form and also just bought a 2000 f4. When I bought it I knew it had been rode hard. It has 14k miles on it and seems to run fine. I bought new plugs, filters, oil change, chain, tires, and a few cosmo stuff for it. I also drained and filled the coolant. And now that its getting warmer out I noticed it runs on the warmer side of the gauge. I have read many postings about this and they all said it should run alitttle below the halfway on the temp gauge, but mine runs alittle above the halfway. I have started it in the drive way and let it run for about20 minutes to see how hot it would get and the fans turn on like they should for about 3 minutes and then turn off for about 2 minutes, then back on. I know a bike gets hot sitting still, but mine only stays at or below the halfway on the gauge if im driving 45mph or above. Is this normal. I wish it was a digital gauge at least. I have a ZX6R same year and it rarely gets warm enough to activate the fans.
Thanks, Mike
Thanks, Mike

My F4 get kinda hot as well. If i do slow city riding even in 60 degree temps the gauge will go a bit over half way and he fan will kick on, but they do not run long. It seems to me your bike is getting a bit hotter then mine. I had a coolant flush done and it gets hot faster now then it did before.
