Default riding a cylinder down?

i got a 2000 f4
and my neighbor is a bike mechanic and he noticed it sounded like i had a cylinder not working correctly at idle.
we sprayed carb cleaner on the header and he was right because it didnt burn up as quickly as the other 3
but anyway he said he will take a look atthe spark plugs, carb., coil etc. he knows his **** but
tomorrow i get my license finally andi'm defiantly going riding....willi break anything if i ride it tomorrow until he looks at it like at night ?
i mean he said it sounds like it fires and clears up at hi RPMs, which it does feel like it kicks in later but if im about to do serious damage can you let me know
thanks

I had the same problem as you...with my bike not idling smooth and once u cranked it up it kinda cleared. Well i discovered that one of my spark plug caps wasnt even pushed on all the way.....it was loosely just bouncing around in there. So the bike was on occasion firing off of 3 cylinders. Im assuming even though it wasnt on all the way the spark may have been just barely clearing the gap every here and there between the plug and the top of the spark plug......(this can cause idle problems...and power loss)
