Anyone out there running on permanent oil filts typically from scotts? Came across this it runs about 110 bucks and was wondering is it worth the cash? They say it filters much better than the whats out there now and it's resuable. They claim F1, nascar, and even NASA uses this type of techno. I really like the fact its resuable but its suppose to keep the engineand compartmentsreally clean from any internal debris.

Want to hear positives and negatives if you got em.

lets look at it this way... the scotts is 110$ a normal good filter... is 7$ 110/7= 15.7 , it will take you 15.7 oil changes to start saving money with the reusable filter.

and 15.7 oil changes depending on your oil change intervals is going to equal out to

change every 1000 miles = 15,700 miles
change every 2000 miles = 31,400 miles } thats how many miles you got to ride before you see an money savings.
change every 3000 miles = 47,100 miles

 

Thanks for the input. I had looked at how many oil changes for the part to start paying for itself and it is a few changes. Now what about performance. I've been using fram and that's the only filter I know mainly because the price... Scotts says it'll filter better. I had talked toa guy who had bought one and said it made a difference on his bike. But he's the only one I came across who had one and I think he rides a lot more than I do. Anyway, I have a few more miles before an oil change is dueso I have some time to think about it.
