Default Oh great! Another thread about r/r.

My bike died halfway home from college, sure enough it was the dead battery r/r burnt up situation many, many people have. so i had to have my dad come get me n the bike while sat there as 100 ppl drove by.

funny thing is i was just reading about this problem yesterday and have an additional problem i was trying to solve. My high beams haven't been working all week, would the r/r being bad have anything to do with this??? i know my right hand switch has a little play in it and if u hit it just right the light will go off. but my lights always worked until this week. the bulb looks fine to me but i might get a new one and a new r/r and see if it fixes it.

You think i am going in the right direction??? any tips, advice.

Sorry about your problems.

Have you physically pulled the bulb to look at it? If you haven't, pull it...b/c the high beam filament can go out w/ the low beam still working. I'd recommend changing it anyway...the orig bulbs aren't very bright compared to modern standards. When mine died, I replaced mine w/a "Candlepower" brand bulb & its much brighter. I like it. Its a Candlepower Premium Plus Halogen Bulb H-4 60/55W - 4720 BLB. Many Honda shops tock them. www.candlepowerinc.com

As for the switch, yes, they affect the headlight(s). Over time, the switches can stick or go bad. Make sure it has free-play...wd40 works wonders. ;-)

Hope you resolve your problems quickly & easily. Keep us informed.

Good luck.
