Default The OFFICIAL CBRforum F4 Mod Thread!

OK.. so maybe it isnt so official.. but it sounds impressive...

About 3 weeks ago I picked up my 2000 CBR F4

So far I have bought:
the OEM tool kit
the owner's manual
a new lic plate light for the undertail

to be purchased over the winter:
red reflective rim stripes
new "CBR" and "600F4" decals
new delrin bar ends
possibly switching the white frame sliders the bike has now to black Vortex ones
replace my small LED front signals with some slightly larger ones

What are you doing this winter?

I bought mine about 2 months ago, it was a standard red/silver.

So far I've changed:

Clutch, clutch lever, clutch cable
CarbonTech Tirehugger/Chain Guard
Carbon F4i Front fender
Black Frame Sliders (instead of white)
LED Smoked Tail Light
K&N Filter
Bi-Xenon HID kit
Targa Cowl Cover
New Replicas Kit in RED/BLack
New paint in Winning Red/Onyx Black
New ProGrip Grips
New BarEnds
New Mirrors
WoodCraft RearSets
New Brake Pads
520 Chain Conversion
Led License Plate Lights

Hopfully will be fully together this weekend for some pictures and a good ride Finally. I only rode the bike a handful of times and it was a piece of crap, I had to tear it down and clean the carbs and I cleaned every bit of grease off of it....

99 f4- bought the night before it started snowing-
HEY TURBULENS- im looking for very small led front signals! do you have big plans for your take off pair?
so- i bought this bike to keep me sane (enough to get by i hope) and fill the space in my life that was formerly spent with drinking ...
Leo's streetfighter project!!!!!!!! -
removed black/yel. plastics (may offer for sale?)
hand-laying carbon fibre:
ft. fender, (just needs holes & hardware now)
and largish bellypan (2 sides & a V.) (both sides 1/2 done)
solo cowl built onto spare seatpan and re upholstered (i was thinkin about digital camo- but maybe black is best)(what am i sayin-MAYBE?) carbon done, trimfoam yet
satin black paint just drying right now on tank (carbon partial shell to come)
satin black tail w. # 6 painted in white.
integ rear sig.
black metal undertail trim.
i want a cnc alum top yoke. dont know what is good or how much to pay.
maybe gonna make one. i just started school for machining!
i called the scrapper today and asked about a single sided rear end. vfr is ideal but really ANY s.s. swingarm and 17" rear rim would be great! ill just cut and weld my stock pivot area.
so anyone know somebody w a crashed triumph daytona, a ducati, i dont know what else? bent and scratched is better. did i mention im layed off so im going back to school on grants? so yeah- im really into this project and am doing it with creativity more than cash for sure>>>
i think im going to make a led headlight too from these 20$ round pairs at the autostore.
side covers for the rad. kinda like on alot of motard/ dualspt. style bikes.
custom lathed alum barends i just finished . i cant getem to tighten on cause the threads inside the bar just spin.
i need a new rear tire. so.
i just took pictures of how the carbon bits are coming.
see ya round

mk2: which LED rear taillight did you go with? I see cheaper ones on ebay and then there is always Clear Alternatives.. I am thinking of getting an integrated one and ditching the rear signals..

leo: I don't have any plans for them. They are perfect, just not my thing I guess. I will snap a close up pic of them today, since it is going to be in the low to mid 40s today (YAY!) and I have to swap in the new(er) side stand. Shoot me an offer.. I don't know what they are worth.

The bike should be put back together tonight. I did hook up the tail though just to get an idea. It's not as bright which worries me, but my led license plate lights I have are pretty damn bright...

I'll have some pictures of the bike done tomorrow hopfully. Gotta tear the bike apart again and loc-tite some bolts and do a cotter pin set up on the axle bolt.

F4LIFE: Where did you get the bolts from? I seem to be missing a trim screw here and 2 allen headed fairing bolts there...
