Default New Exhaust with louder sound?

So i just got myself a 2000 Honda CBR600F4 bike. It currently has the stalk exhaust system on it. I want to get something that will give my bike a louder sound, but a lot of dealers are saying it will be hard to find an exhaust for an old bike. I keep reading about these 'slipon' exhaust systems that are pretty easy to install. I'm pretty good with basic mechanic stuff so I think i should be able to install it. But i had a couple of questions about it.

1. Has anyone heard of Scorpion? I found this model here for $300. I dealer said they would sell this to me for $350 plus $40 installation. Want to know if that sounds like a good price? Also wanted to know if it is that hard to install or if someone could do it with basic mechanic skills. Then I would think $300 isn't bad if I could install it myself.

2. What about a Yoshimura brand exhaust? Are they any different or better? Or just a different sound?

3. Will I need to get a Carb Kit/Jet Kit or Dynotune after installing it? some dealers are quoting me this as well and some are saying a simply $40 installation charge. So not really sure if I need this.

Anyhow, like I said, I am simply trying to get extra noise from the bike when driving. Not trying to get any extra power or do anything major to the performance. Any advice would be great!

I run a Yoshimura Tri Oval CF on my 2000...love the sound. Loudest I've heard is TwoBros.

Yep, pretty easy install.

You don't necessarily need any further tuning after the install.

BTW, welcome to the forum.

i have 2 different slip ons i could sell you with a midpipe. The midpipe came off my 2000 f4. The mid pipe has a ding on the back side from the swingarm but you cant tell its there nor does it affect sound. $125 shipped for both slip ons with mid pipe....lemme know...btw they're both cut down so they will be loud

I had a Micron exhaust on my F4.. didnt like it because it was a bit loud... left me feeling like it was resonating in my helmet and that was with earplugs... I moved to a Yoshimura RS-3 (no silencer) and IMO it is perfect... loud enough to be heard but it isnt loud enough to give me a headache while riding.. it is also about 3/4in longer than the Micron was so the outlet is a bit further back behind me....

Sound is so subjective.. the Micron sounded great, but I was looking for something else... the Yoshi (for me) was it.

Other people swear by their Two Brothers, Jardine or whatever.. check out youtube for some demo vids..

I have a two bothers on mine now..Its not bad but i want it louder so i ordered a moto gp for it + a d&d cause there the loudest ive heard on a f4 near me.... To get the most power out of it you should do bigger jets and filter but you dont have to...

Default thanks!

thanks for the tips. i like the two brothers, especially their M-2. the end cap and color just makes it looks so unique. and i like the sound, i don't really want too loud. just a bit more bass to go with the engine treble!

so what do you guys think of these?
he says its not legal because of the sound. but in georgia there is no law currently on pipe noises. but i would think a cop would pull me over because there is no flashy exhaust sticking out.

i really like this one cause its all black and the end cap looks very unique, plus not too big. but probably too much for my old bike.

this looks like my best bet. what do you guys think?

oh nice, so you have a similar pipe as the first listing i put? so its not illegal or anything? i think i would rather go with that and not have the bulky exhaust sticking out.
did you install this on a CBR600F4?
and did you install this your self? seems like it is easy to install from what I have read.

I live in PA so the law is different in each state, and yes its on a 99 cbr f4 .. so just keep the old one in case and yes it's very very ez all u should need is a 10mm deep well to install just make sure u tighten the bolts back down good..
