Howsit!
the only thing needed was the front end.. the F4 & F4i side fairings are same and have the same mounting brackets.
I did have to change some wiring around as the F4 has a single light and the F4i has a double light. I managed to connect it in such a way that they work separately, brights = 2 lights... dim = 1 light one. If you can get an F4i front wiring harness, go for it! it'll make life so much easier:-). I also had to get the Fairing bracket for the F4i to affix it better.
The other problem is that the Gauges wont fit 'lekker' anymore. I'm on the lookout for some F4i gauges but they are seriously hard to find. I've asked a guy at the local bike salvage shop to keep a lookout for me. The F4 gauges really didn't fit nicely and they kept getting knocked by the handlebars at every corner. i temporarily put the Honda 919 gauges in as they are a lot smaller.
But i'd say it was relatively simple to do. took me about 2 hours to do from start to finish. all i need now are those darn Gauges!
very nicely done man! I'm trying to do something similar with my F4, put on an F4i front end, I'm also going to do the HID conversion with dual bi-xenons and potentially angel eyes.
My question for you is what did you use for your primer, base coat and gloss. it came out really well! i haven't been able to get a nice gloss finish like you have. Please let me know what supplies you used or where you bought them from.
Nicely done, I hope my winter project work comes out as well!

I got all the supplies from my mate who works for a reputable panelbeater here in SA. I managed to get Dupont's at cost price. I spent the extra because cheaper isnt always better. i applied a adhesion promoter first, Primer second, base coat third and then finally the clear coat. i wet sanded the clear coat and then added another clear coat then wet sanded again. thats why it has such a great shine.
as for the base coat colour, i mixed it myself. Black with a hint of silver... just to give it that extra 'boom":-)
I did also fork out on an expensive polish... It's called "AutoSol". It's a German product and lots of people swear by it. I tried it out and it really is amazing. A bit pricey though...(R250 for a 250ml tube / +-$25 for a 25ML tube).
All in all, this project cost me just under R8500 ( $850). all materials labour etc. - well worth it if you ask me because i've added at least R18K onto my bike.
