Looking good so far! I'm doing the same thing right now, I cut away my inner fender, and made some cardboard templates of what my FE should look like. Then I traced it onto sheet metal, cut it out and painted it. I plan on doing some plastic welding on the inside to but a back on the little trays that get cut in half. That AirTech tail will look great!

You're executing a well thought out plan. Like the saying goes, "measure twice & cut once." ;-)

Thanks for the comments. I actually received te bike with this race fairing sitting beside it.. When the original owner laid the bike down in 2001, he broke the side fairings and mirrors and turn signals so I'm guessing that tail fairing got scrapped as well. I'm hoping to find some side fairings to fit mine if anyone comes across some.. I'll be doing the fender elimination plastic piece tomorrow for under the tail and an LED license plate frame+bracket. Jeeptuff you can reach me @ acespad3@hotmail since pm's I haven't figured out yet lol

I looked at doing plastic for the undertail too, but I was planning on plastic welding it to the existing part. Only stuff I could find that big was HDPE, which you can't weld to ABS so I ended up using sheet metal. I plan on starting a thread like this for my bike too, I'll show you what I mean once I get it up.

Did you not get the side race fairings too? Lots of places where you can buy kits, or individual parts, or if you find somebody who's doing a fairing kit you might be able to find a set someone took off.

Yeah i just might end up going with sheet metal. As far as fairings go, I only got the nose, tail, and the front wheel fairing.. I'd love me some side fairings lol
