My 1999 CBR600 F4 Winter Build *PICS*
Great to be here guys, i already posted few pics and info of the bike in the newbie introduction section but going to again for the sake of my winter build thread. Picked up this 600 F4 at no cost from father in law, was in storage for about 8 years due to an electrical fire from mice. I was able to connect a fresh battery to see if she would crank atleast (no such luck) but however i was able to see the mileage. 12,606 miles, she's still in her prime.
Plans for the bike: i will be Street Fighting her, chopping the seat in half and fab up a custom cowl. 8in single headlight with mini gauges (but we'll see as time progresses).
First things first... complete tear down and well see if i get to start that today. Will need to reorganize my shop to accommodate this build, for today she is chilling on my porch.
Any feedback, comments or ideas is always welcome. Enjoy the progress!
Loaded up for new home
Inspecting fire damage
Damn wasps
Good ol oil leaks

Well i had the itch to really see what the cause of the fire was.... apparently the fuel line was way too long and pinched itself between the tank and frame... causing the hose to 'balloon' from pressure and then finally popping (so it definitely was a fuel line fire and definitely not caused by mice!!)
Anyhow the airbox needs replacing ..the carb line nipples were melted off... so far it looks pretty straight forward what needs to be replaced.
Also i will be doing a PAIR and EVAP delete on this thing.
Upon removing tank you can see hose is kinked
Hose pop'd causing fire
Airbox is toast
Stupid mess of unnecessary hoses, luckily the carbs look in great shape... no warping of the inlets 🙌🏼
