I wonder if some of these ebay mounts would work. They look like they may be a bit narrow for the triple tree tho.

That one is set so it goes around your handle bar. The ball on the end is where you put your GPS onto. i heard those ones vibrate from the bike makes it uneasy to see.

high vibration probably is not the best for a GPS unit either.

Default what i plan on getting

when i finally decided on which gps i want this stem mount is what i will use. i've seen them in action pretty good

oh and if you stem mount on google the can geet pretty cheap but make sure it isn't a knock off

That actually looks pretty good. Im still riding out with my home made one. I may consider something like that in the future.

Hm... I have a ram mount that connects to the clutch side of the handlebar. I then have a mount for my Tom tom one V3. I've used it for about 1000 miles and seem just fine. i've had the bike pretty fast and I certainly can read the display fine (mostly checking mph); I didn't notice any vibration issues.

The two bolts on the front of the tank are perfect.

I brought a diamond plate ball ram mount, a 3" riser and a ball mount for my GPS.

The plate that goes on the tank end was a bit too wide, so I used my grinder to take some of the bottom point off, and I enlarged the holes with my drill.

So to install:

Remove the front gas tank bolts (by the triples)
Put the plate in place
replace the bolts
Mount the top ball to the GPS receiver
Put the 3" riser on the bike, and then insert the top one...
Done.

Visually it sits in a perfect location. It does not obscure my gauges, it isn't obscured by the tank bag, and it is in the air pocket so doesn't get any weather on it. I have a non-water proof garmin nuvi 360 - it works well (can use my gloves on the touch screen no problem)... and when it rains I just put a zip lock over the top. Works just as well.

Ram mount also sells aquaboxes which I will probably buy.
