While changing my oil on my 2000 cbr F4, I noticed small cracklines running in a few places. I am wondering if anyone has had a case crack on them cause of normal wear and tear, not becuase a crash.
I also read in a Honda Civic forumn about cracked engine blocks on 06-07 "R" type engines that resulted in coolant leakage on relatively low mile vehicles.
I know the engine heats up and cools down and every material has its breaking point. Also I wonder if starting motorcycle in the middle of winter (10-40 degrees F) causes these stress lines which may or may not lead to a cracked case. Please let me know your story and or your experiance with alluminum block failures.
