Default Miles Per Tank?

Sorry for the noob question, i came from riding a GS500e...

I have a 1999 CBR600f4. How many miles should i expect to get out of one tank of gas?

How many miles do i have once the gas light comes on?

Is there a reserve?

Thanks!

yes theres a reserve, your on it when the light comes on and you have approx 20 miles to find a station.

I get roughly 170 - 180 from a tank. And have gotten 200 once or twice.

Well are you hammering on it or shift around 6 or 8 grand? Beating the **** out of mine all the time i usually get about 150 miles. When ever my dad had it for a week he got at least 200 miles on a tank..

I get the reserve light at 170ish and I went 196 miles one time. I could only put 4.0 gallons in. So I had about .8 left.

I now regularly will go 180 miles before fill up.

I calculated I consistently get about 49 mpg. There are times I rev it hard but that doesn't seem to have that much impact on mpg.

My 3 year average is 43 mpg. I'm a wider shouldered guy and I often have soft bags on the bike at highway speeds.

At lower speeds, less gear, etc - I get much better mileage - closer to 45-50mpg.

Last time I checked, I went about 175 before I filled it up.

During the summer when gas stations finally get off the winter gas crap, i generally pull out 50mpg and go 200+ on a tank. The idiot light comes on around 190 miles I believe...

unfortunately Right now, with the winterized stuff, The light comes on around 160-170.... I think it kicked on at 163 yesterday, which means its around 43ish mpg... still not bad though
