Default lowering bike?

Hey guys, I have an F4i and was wanting to lower the bike because I cannot stand flat footed on the bike. I rode with some friends the other day and at every light they were standing flat footed and comfortable, while I was on my tip toes. I was wondering if buying a lowering link would solve my problem or is there a better/cheaper way of doing this? Thanks

You can get a lowering link, but lowering your bike worsens the handling of the bike. I have the same problem and just deal with tip toes or leanign the bike on 1 foot, because i like the bike being able to handle the way it is supposed to.

I'm close to standing flat foot, but shy from it. I'll usually lean on left or right and occasionally put both on the ground. But they do look comfortable, don't they.

As far as lowering your bike, I agree it changes the lean angle. I also agree that I'd rather have the handling as well. In fact I adjusted the settings so it's hard setup. It feels likeI raised the bike a little. But turns so much better (for me anyway). But do what's comfy for you.

I love the look of a lowerd bike, but I am leaving my alone. I can not sit flat footed at a stop on my 2000 F4, but it's not that big of deal. It sucks to be short and own a sport bike LOL! I'm 5.8.

If you guys are close to flat footing then think about modifiying your seats. I've known people that shaved off some of the padding on the side and it made a difference. I don't exactly know how they did it or if they had it done but they did modify it.

I'd die to be 5'8", I'm 5'5" with a 28 inch inseam. I look akward on a bike at a stop light, but oh well.

There is no way i am going to remove padding from my seat. I ride way to much and my seat is comffey now. I have heard of people doing this, but I will not do it.

My one buddy thatI ride with has a 2003 636 and helowerd it an inch and still can't flat foot LOL! He's like 5.4 or 5.5 tops.
