Default LED Turn Signals w/o Resistor?

I have a 1999 CBR600 F4, i want to replace the stock signals with some short stalk LED signals. (i bought 4 Carbon Fiber short stalk LED signals for my gs, they didn't work out on it).

Can i install the LED signals (4) with out using a resistor? I understand they will flash faster w/o, but other than that will they work?

Also my stock lights work as running lights also, the LED's are 2 wire. Will that be a problem? Or is the running light just a safety feature?

Sorry if this topic has been beat to death, i did a search and didn't find the exact answers i was looking for...

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

I have LEDs front and rear with no resistor and I really don't see it as a problem. They do blink a little faster but I think that's actually a good thing for increased visibility. It's not a problem for me and I don't see myself changing it at all.

They will work fine, they will just flash faster since they draw lass current than the incandescent bulbs you are replacing. 2 wire signals won't allow for the running light. No big deal. I believe they make aftermarket 3 wire signals but they are'nt very visually pleasing, not unlike the OEM signals.

You can put in Diodes on the front so you can have running lights. You can pick them up cheap at radio shack. They will still blink fast but like every one else says it isn't much of a problem.

I'm not bothered by them blinking faster, as long as its not so fast they look like they are lit all the time...

My big question now is which wire is which? I know that i will need to leave the running light wire disconnected. I just can't tell them apart... (i don't have a multimeter to test them...)

That diagram helps for sure!

But i'm still unsure which wire is for the front running light, O/W or Lb (front right)?? Lb/w or O (front left)??

Sorry for being repetetive, i'm just new to working on electrical systems. I only know the very most basics....

For the front right you would want to sue the LB and for the front left you would want to use the O. Its the same wiring code as the back. (the back wont have 3 wires due to not having running lights) Good luck!
