Ignition issues...Please Help!
Hi, all. I'm new to the forum and hoping someone here can provide some insight because I'm banging my head against a wall.
Bike is a 1999 f4. As soon as I turn the key to on, the 10A ignition fuse blows.
I've tried unplugging just about all of the connections and the only ones that seem to prevent the fuse from blowing are disconnecting the ignition cylinder or the ICM. Any suggestions for further testing? Does anyone know a reliable way to test and see if my ICM is still good? I'm really hoping I don't have to replace that.
Rec/Reg tests ok with the multimeter, by the way. Please point out if I am overlooking something in a big way. All help welcome!
Edit: Voltage on the pink wire from the ignition cylinder shows ~11.5V. I thought the diode in there was supposed to step it down to 9V but maybe I'm mistaken. Can anyone provide some insight?
