How fast is a 1999 F4
Hey guys im new to this site but i have a question? I just recently bought a 99 f4 with a littler over 15k miles on it and it came with a Yosh pipe, So what do you think the top speed on the bike is i have read on the internet its 158 is that ture???

Sounds right to me more or less. It will take a little bit to get to 155 from 145, but it will do it. 0-140 is just a hop skip and a jump though.

and from 145-150+ its gonna be a walk , tip toe, 3 legged walk , crawl, cough... kaboom.
actually... iv taken mine up to 160 indicated... w.o a speado healer... dont know what the actual speed would be.. and it took A WHILE to get it there... from 150... it was a drag... and i had about 175rpm left to go b4 red line...but wouldnt budge.
i dont know if that claimed 158 is indicated of actual speed....
This is my first bike. im taking it really slow for a while until i really get the hang of it. But i sure do love the bike. Do you think this bike can hand with the newer bikes??
This bike can hang with any bike. The real question is the rider. Seriously, we just lost another friend the other day who started his riding career with your same questions. I'm sorry if that is biasing my response to you, however, the biggest thing you need to work on now is your riding skills and becoming really aware of your surroundings.
I ride an F4 and I've been riding for a long time. Every time I twist the throttle it reminds me just how powerfull a bike this is. This is no toy and will scoot into the 140s very quickly - double any speedlimit you will find. There are no problems with this bike being slow.
How fast is the bike.....to be blunt, if you have to ask its faster than you can handle. Build up your riding skill and you'll be pleased every time you go out. Don't let typical male behavior cloud your judgement. I've got a yellow/black 99 F4...and ill never get rid of it. I may pick up a few more bikes along the way though. Enjoy the ride, and stay safe.
