On the 99 & 00 F4, there is not a on/off-reserve valve. The F3 was the last CBR600 to have that. You are correct, there is a valve to shut off gas flow if you have to service the bike with the tank removed.I hope that was what you were referring to. That thread was very confusing.

 

Ya, I don't think it is a reserve. I think it goeson-off-on, or off-on-off, I forget exactly. No reserve setting. Peace
