HELP slick new tires

Default HELP slick new tires

I just got the dunlop q2 and they have a slick coating anyone know of anything to get this coating off I do not trust putting the bike through turns considering it came out from under me doing 15 around a turn

i rub new tires down with sand paper. then just take it easy for a while

i heard acetone works but i have not found a lot of info about it. people seem to say scotch bright pads work pretty well too

a single heat cycle is all that is needed...

Take it easy for a bit, ride it like it's raining. The coating comes off pretty easily.

ive been riding in the rain a lot and i havent noticed a lot of difference in how much my tires grip.

im new to bikes but i would try send paper (400 maybe) just to take the coating down.

I've always just done the ride it easy technique but for the last front tyre I used scotchbrite and isopropyl alchohol with a rag to clean it off. Might do it this way every time from now on.

thanks guys for the info I took sand paper and brake cleaner worked great it still has a little left on the rear but I will take it easy I deal with the rear tire spinning a but not the front
