Help me buy my first bike...
I am looking for a 2000+ cbr600 and I did find one locally (I live in the middle of no where in Maine) and I have been looking for a bike that has damage because it will be my first bike and I know I will drop it on the sandy maine roads. I did find a 2000 CBR600 with 16K miles for $2000, and it does have a salvage title. I do have mechanic know how and I know a lot of riders and mechanics who could look at the bike for me. It seems like a good deal and price I can definitely talk down.
Most of the people I know ride Yamahas, so I want Honda people to give me advice when looking at this model CBR600. Thanks!!!
P.S. The salvage title was put on three seasons ago and have been cummuted since then.

they are great bikes and hold up better than the other brands. Seriously Ive put mine through hell and every gixxer around here thats had similar accidents had destroyed frames. I dont ride like that now but if the bike is in fairly good shape and runs well, the price is pretty good. p.s. 16k is the valve check period so it will need that asap if it hasnt been done.

F4 was my First and Only bike so far. Go slow, ride within your abilities and you will be fine. It is better to ride like a pansy than wrap it around a tree.
I didn't take the MSF course because I live in the middle of no-where and could spend LOTS of time practicing without any cars around, but I would recommend the course - certainly lots of bang for the buck, and when things slow down for me I might go take it just for the hell of it.

Guy sold the bike right before I was going to look. But another one I had been looking at is up for sale. It's a 2000 F4, clean title. New rubber, inspected, just a little scrape on the tank...looked great. So minimal of a mark that if I tried to get it fixed it would probably do more harm than good. He wants $3300. 22K on the bike.
