help chain and sproket kit
 

hey, i am new to the forum, i have a 99 cbr 600f4 and i need to replace the chain and sprocket, what is the best kit to use? i want a good one but also want one that will last and not wear out quick. thanks for help.

i would say pretty much any of the the more well know companies should do u fine, so long as u replace them(front, rear sprocket, and chain) all at the same time

From what I've read on here also, it sounds like you would want to stay with the stock 325 chain. It's a bit heavier than the 320 chainthat most people convert to,but the 325 lastslonger. As far a brands, I'd say just stay away from the cheap ones as chains are one thing you can't take a chance on...

what is the difference about the 325 and 320 chain and about how long do they last? and what about the sprockets, i see most people -/+ on sprockets what is the advantage of doing that? if you -/+ does that change speedometer and also is it a direct replacement or do you have to change anything? thanks for the help and responses.

do u mean 525? and 520 conversion? cuz i went to the store and they said mine takes a 525 stock..

Yeah, they meant to say 525 and 520

a 525 chain will last a little longer than a 520 people change to a 520 for lighter weight for racing. I never noticed a difference.
changing the teeth on the sprockets are just like a bicycle up 3 teeth on the rear is the same i think as droping 1 tooth on the front. this gives you faster acceleration. going the oposite will give you less acceleration and more top speed but i have never heard of anyone doing that. The speedo from factory is off 7% changing the sprocket size can take it out 15%. It says your faster than what you are. The first time i droped a tooth i reached a top speed of 295kms on the speedo but i wasn't really go that fast. to bad eh.
