Default Hard shifting

K so I'm a beginner rider. 4 days to be exact. Bought a 2000 cbr 600 f4 from someone, had a mechanic look it over before I bought it, said it was in great shape. Super excited about it. But let me get to the point. So I got on started getting a feel of the bike everything seemed to be working fine started shifting and going faster. Been just going around on it. So last night I noticed it was getting harder to change gears (mostly shifting up, but sometimes down as well.) And when getting up to higher speeds (40mph) I started feeling vibration in the handlebars. It gets worse the faster I go. It's not like dangerously shaking but I can definitely notice it now when there was none before. Any idea what the cause might be. I feel I may be shifting up to soon, and going into higher gears when not going to all that fast just to keep the rpms down (is this really bad?), or not pulling the clutch in far enough. Also, when shifting up sometimes I really have to kick up pretty hard (and down especially going from second to first) . So if anyone could tell me where the problem possibly may be or if there is no problem at all.

Welcome to the two wheel world bro. While most cbr's and all bikes in general have some stiffness to the shift action it should not be too hard. Your clutch cable is the 1st thing that comes to mind, it may be out of adjustment causing the clutch not to engauge/disengauge smoothly. Do you have a service manual?

check shifter lever and clutch cable adjustments and then clutch cable it self. if that doesnt fix it then take the clutch cover off and the check clutch actuator arm, sometimes they break at the bottom where it attaches to the pin. look it up the parts fitch on bike bandit to see what i mean. check all adjustments first though.
