Well, changing the fuse will help keep the light on, the only problem is that the wire size (gauge) is only meant for the headlight you have stock. If you put a bigger bulb in and it pulls more amperage, you run the risk of burning up the wiring and harness. Had a buddy that this happened to on a gsxr 600, it melted the wire sheath and the harness.
If you run a new/bigger wire you'll eliminate that issue, and charging capability shouldn't be off by much with only changing a bulb and fuse.
