Default getting my F4 to wheelie

So i watch this video on youtube, telling me how to wheelie. yeah. right. my bike will NOT do a role on throttle wheelie. sorry. as stated in the vid. you get going about 5-6 mpg and open the throttle all the way and it'll come up so he says. maybe just not on a 600CC. so i try the slip the clutch thing. yeah it'll kinda come up but not very much. i have been able to get teh fron up about 1 foot in first but no way in hell wil it pull it in any other gear. is this normal?
so is my bike not runnign right or what am i doing wrong.? i don't want to rev it to 9 grand a dump the clutch then I know it'll stand on it's ***.
thoughts please

HR.

Well bro...i have an F4 myself...it will power up....dont pay attention to the rpm's, its all about the feel. Try sitting as far back on the seat *** possible. WHen I first started, a local guy told me that, and I was amazed @ the difference. It comes up much easier. Dont get frustrated. It takes time.

Rev it up to about 7k rpms and throw out the clutch and it should come right up for you, then just throttle out the wheelie.[sm=yeahsmile.gif]

yeah well i have tryed sitting back. and i'm telling you it won't. i've ridden dirt bike my whole life. so almost 28 year now. and this damn thing will screem but it WILL NOT power up on it's own. only clutching it will it come up. and at that only in first. will not do it in second.
now i weigh about 180 lb. but i would think this little 600 should have enough tourque to bring it up.
i looked at the sprockets they are all stock. whitch is ok. i want to leave it stock. i just would like to do a wheelie from time to time.

i know my little cr 250 will power wheelie all day long. but it's ALOT lighter and a 2 stroke. heck i can even getmy little crf 50 to wheelie easier than this.

Do you think the exaust having a leak at the header woudl cause that much of a loss of torque? i mean the bike runs great. it'll do well over 130 mph and i can't seem to get it to wheelie like you see on the youtube videos. those bikes come up so effortlessly. i know mine doesn't.
any of you live in SO Cal. that can meet up with me and show me.????

Some of the other answers here are good ones. It is about feel. You never look at your rpm gauge when attempting or doing wheelies.

It also depends on the bike itself though I will agree.

I've had bikes that were great at pulling wheelies...

2-stroke dirt bikes (blocks long and 3-4 gear changes)...92 FZR 600 (had a light front end).

And then I have had bikes that were a pig to get a wheelie past the 75-100 foot mark...
(92 ZX-6...94 CBR 600...and forget about gear changes)

The easiest way to improve you prowess is to put a coupla teeth on the rear sprocket, This makes huge differences.

Good luck and remember...bodywork is expensive.

Why the hell do you want to power wheelie? Scary. Your bike probably has stock gearing too. Get a bigger sprocket in the rear and see what happens. My F4 will power up in 3rd! I never do though-a lot more safe to clutch them up right to balance point.

Humm maby is bike isn't getting enough torq in the low rpms. Do you have a flat spot in the lower rpms? Might need to sync the carbs.

My F4 will power right up in first gear, but not in second. It will clutch up in second with no problem at all. I have a Two Bro's slip on, K&N fliter and a 520 kit with one down on the front sprocket and a Alum Vortex rear with stock teeth.

Power wheeles are way harder to control so if you have to do wheelies-learn to clutch up and always make sure your covering the rear brake. The rear brake will save you from looping out more times then not.

This is ture, but if this guy does not know how to wheelie I don't think he needs to be 12'n right now LOL!
