Default Fuel pump questions???

Hi, newbee here... I have a 99 f4 600, and it cranks fine but won't start, it has good spark, so I think the fuel pump is bad or one of the relays. There is fuel supply to the pump and it is primed. When I turn on the key I can hear one click from a relay near the battery and one click from the fuel pump but no whiring-just one click. Q...Shoud the fuel pump be spinning or buzzingwhen the key's on??? or when the bike is running because I get one click and that's it. I primed the carbs and got the bike to run for a few seconds and during that time the fuel pump was dead silent. Any help or advice would be awsome! Tks

it'll prime but won't continuously run until you start the bike and it's kind hard to hear when the bike is running as well as cranking.

disconnect the line that goes into the carbs and try to start the bike...it'll come out in small pulses, pretty low psi. If so it's not bad. When you say you "primed the carbs" what exactly are you referring to?

I did pull the hose leading to the carb and I can see the fuel in the hose but it's not pulsing out of the hose.
What I ment by priming the carbs isI poured a little gas directly into the carbs and it fired right up and ran for a few seconds, that's why I think it's the fuel pump, but not having any experience working on this bike I'm not entirely sure.
Any suggestions??

if you can find the fuel pump relay, try jumping it to make the fuel pump runwhile youcheck the fuel line again. if you're lucky the relay died and not the pump...

you cant hear the fuel pump with the bike running, but you can put your hand on it and you should be able to feel it click as it pulses the fuel to the carbs. It doesnt continuously run, just pulse. You can feel it get faster as the revs go up.

Ok, So I'm guessing the relay controls the fuel pump pulse and tells it to pulse and at what frequency depending on the engine's rpms...right?
Another question...could a tripped angle/tip sensor also cause the fuel pump not to pulse, how can I check that the tip sensor is not tripped?
Tks
