Flasher Question: LED's and Undertail ....
2000 F4
Hi, I just installed an undertail (Mototek) with LED brake, running and turn signals and some front flush mount LED's. I think an electronic flasher is a better solution than installing resistors due to the heat, etc... Anybody find a three wire flasher out there? Or do we just install one of the many universal 2-wire ones that I see for sale everywhere? Which two wires to hook up?
Thanks!!

RE: Flasher Question: LED's and Undertail ....
If you're spending the money to put a new flasher in go here:
http://www.customdynamics.com/trick_flasher.htm
Plug and Play.
I personally like the fast flash so I just left mine. I guess it will wear it out sooner but the little time the blinkers are on, I'm not too worried about it.
Wiring question:
2 wire the flasher is ungrounded.
3 wire the flasher is grounded.
It's just a relay, the current that the signals draw, makes the contacts open and close.

RE: Flasher Question: LED's and Undertail ....
I Installed an electronic flasher last night and it works perfectly.Plug and play unit from custom led but any two wire plug in should work as there about a thousand places online to get them.
Something to note for other undertail / led installers. I did put a resistor on the wire for the running lights to the tail light and leave the brake light wire as is to get the brake light to actually show up as brighter than the tail lights. I Love how the guys who sell you the parts usually omit the custom wiring issues that go along with their products if you want them to actually function correctly. Also to other installers, please don't pay $10 for a $0.10 resistor if you need them Find a local electronics supplier and get them for 1/100th of the price !
