FAIRING UPDATE
I currently have a 1999 Honda CBR 600 F4. I am looking to replace all of the plastics, but I am inquiring to if I can update the fairings with a set for a 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i. Almost everything looks the same, but I am not sure how much modifying will be necessary. I do not want a lot of extra work, but would love to update the look of the bike. I love the way that the 2001 looks. If anyone has experienced this or knows of anyone that has done please respond.
Thanks in advance.

well your deff gonna need a subframe for the rear to work and you'll have to cut the ram air ducts, 01 guage cluster, support, headlight, and most of the front stuff has to be wired in
there might be more im sure other ppl will speak up

I am trying to cut costs. I found a set of new plastics for my 99, but they are primered. I have also located a set of 2001 plastics that are painted black for $125 more. If it does not require too much modification, then I would like to put the 01 set on, because it looks newer and I like the rear seat more.
like wurm said, it would be easier to just buy a f4i. the split seat conversion includes the subframe and other seat brackets, different tail light, different headlight, different gauges, different "dash" different ram air tubes/covers. lots of differences that add up $ wise real quick. You would be better off selling the f4 and putting the money towards the difference in cost for the i
