Default F4 tyres

Hey guys I changed my tyres last summer for some taller ones and now cannot figure out what my originals are.
Does anybody know the standered size or would you recommend a tyre size for track use or hard riding. There are standered rims on a cbr600 f4 1999
Thank you

180/50 is the standard I believe, and a more aggressive tire profile would be the 180/55 both will work on the F4 rims. I, as well as a few others here, like Dunlop Q2s for street /track riding they have a taller profile than most which will help in steering; I dont have much experience with the other brands so I will leave that to others. Just remember that the more "racy" of a tire you get the higher operating temp or longer it takes to get heat into the tires so you need to really think about what your going to be doing with the tires. Not saying don't get them, just I don't think you will find what you are looking for in a DOT race tire on the street. Also if you do plan on tracking the bike make sure you pick a tire that's readily available at the track because the venders have tons of info and can help you mount the tires as well as give you insight on its characteristics (and tire temps too ).

Hope it helps, Chris

I got mine from here and they've been brilliant. £139 for a front and a rear... can't go wrong! For some reason link defaults to a 160 tyre... obviously you want "Pirelli 120/70ZR17 180/55ZR17 Diablo Strada Pair Tyres"

Is that 160 rear not a bit small for an F4 ? - it looks like the older f3 size rear.

Edit - just re read the post - the link is wrong as you said.

Thing is, alot of people will be snobby about these tyres as they're not the latest. However, have to admit, I've been tanking it at times (no chicken strips bar 3mm) and they've never missed a beat. I've done 3k miles on them and they've been superb and no signs of squaring off. Basically I paid £16 notes per tyre for install so all in £171 notes fitted. Can't go wrong. For my ability I don't feel I need he latest all singing and dancing sets of tyres... as I'll never push that far.

I run the Bridgestone BT023GT tyres on my blackbird - were £200 ride in ride out.
Seem to be lasting well and do everything I need them to.
