Can we keep this on topic?

I believe the hot-stall problem to be common with F4's... I'd like to find a real solution to this problem, but I'm currently more tied up with racing parts than commuting problems.

Sorry for everyone’s trouble shooting and thoughts, but, I have been there, done that, and know from experience that the regulator rectifier was changed by Honda to the finned version for the exact same problem you have been facing, and is widely talked about on the VFR forums. The original regulator rectifier had a problem disipatating heat and that is the reason it was changed. Alot of Honda dealers, simply do not know this, and alot of original rectifiers in inventory were still being sold in the past. Honda never bothered to admit the problem and quietly switched to the aftermarket one. GET THE NEW VERSION and you would be good to go. E-bay has the new version for cheap. Best of luck. Rets.
