Well unfortunately every dog has its day, except for the dog I made an effort to not hit resulting in my 99 F4 going for a skid into a fence post and a dislocated shoulder for myself. All BS aside I have a burning question that is driving me nuts... I have all the required parts to fix her either here or on their way except one... the upper cowl stay got bent and yes I know I could bend it back but I'm going the safe route and just replacing it. Now my question is I've heard alot about guys using the upper cowl stay from an F4i... how? Does it work with F4 fairings or do you need to put an F4i front cowl on? If anyone has experience with this let me know because I've seen both pieces and they could not be any more different. Also wear your gear... I can only imagine how much worse I'd be if I wasn't wearing my jacket. Take it from me it can happen with NO warning... but hey the dog is fine so I guess that's a silver lining... thanks for any info guys.

The F4i stay only works w/ F4i front cowl.

 

Thanks for the reply that is what I had suspected. Here's the pics after the crash... not as bad as you would think but I did the best I could to prevent more damage. Shoulder is better it's been about 3 weeks since the crash. I'll post some pics when shes repaired. Time to start hunting for that upper cowl stay.

 

I have the F4i stay on my F4, but you would need to convert the entire F4 to F4i front end.
