Question F4 to F4i split seat conversion question

Can anyone give me a little perspective of price, length, and difficulty to convert to an f4i split seat rear from banana? because I cannot find a cowl, and personally I think the split seat looks better anyway, but I was trying to take the easy way out. If its not to bad on the questions above I May consider it because this cowl thing is driving me insane and its probably just as expensive. Thanks!

Thanks for the reference Turbulenz.

Yep, I made the *split-seat tutorial* & its in my photo gallery. It shows the necessary parts & procedures to do the conversion.

The conversion isn't rocket-science. If you have any ability to turn a wrench at all, you can do this conversion. Its basically a bolt-up swap.

As for the tail cowl, you can get a tail cowl from Delkevic for about $80. That's about as cheap as you're going to find one & its a nice part.

If you need any help at all, in addition to my tutorial, please don't hesitate to contact me.

---

ETA: You should be able to do the conversion in an afternoon (just a few hrs).

Price-wise, its going to depend on how much you have to pay for all the parts. The major parts are: Subframe, battery-tray, tail cowl, tail light, & seats. You'll need misc hardware but some of what you have on your bike will be reused - like subframe bolts, seat lock, etc. Again, I show these things in my tutorial.

Comfy is great for sport-touring & commuting, not so great for track & twisties...for me, anyway.
