Default F4 to F4i Guage swap help

Ok so I got my bike almost all finished up and I cant get power to the fuel pump...I trace everything back to the yellow and pink wire that goes to the original gauge cluster and when I apply a ground to the harness at the yellow wire bada bing my resisters click and my fuel pump fires up and life is good.

Now on the f4 the yellow and pink wire is the 20km/m hook up. I didn’t connect this to anything on the f4i gauges as there isn’t a slot for it. No one has mentioned this problem so I figure I am overlooking something simple….for right now I have hooked up the FI indicator wire to the pink and yellow one which seems to work but I want someone opinions of what to do as I am stumped

I attached the wiring diagrams I am using for refference

Ok im having problems getting this to work. I think my problem is your diagram is a different to my bike, Im after finding the wiring diagram in the back of my owners manual there are 2 versions so ill double check it tomorrow.

Isn't the Fi wire the fuel indactor???

also I am finding alot of the colours not matching up can you take a picture of yours for me

ok I have narrowed down my problem to this pink and yellow wire. im guessing in saying this but is it for when you go over 20km it changes something in the fuel pump that lets in more fuel? I connected it to the FI wire but it doesnt work, when I ride it its like a pig over 20km

did you have any luck with it?

Ok, Im going to take a stab at this though I havent done this mod. First off if your going to follow a wiring diagram, please post the whole diagram. Otherwise its useless to the rest of us. I believe the FI ind, is the FI indicator light which is nothing more than a discrete bit from the pcm on the f4i. when there is an issue with the fuel injection system it lights a light on the guage. The P/Y wire on the f4 goes to the Air vent Control solenoid. I havent had my f4 in a few years but I think I removed that solenoid and basically open up the lines all the time. DesF4 thats most likely the prob you were having. I'm guessing here but i bet the solenoid was blocking off the line making it run like dirt. I realize most of this is an old thread but hopefully it helps someone out.

The solution is to ground the P/Y wire that goes to the air solenoid valve and the fuel pump relay.

there would be no reason to ground the p/y wire if you removed the solenoid. In essence all your doing is hotwiring it open all the time, so you might aswell remove it and make more room to work in there.

That wire is also charging a coil in the relay that is closing a contact to the fuel pump . Trust me I just solved this problem today. Grounding a wire is easier then anything !!
