The end on the F4i header is different, so that makes the F4 midpipe different from the f4i midpipe.

As dmcb said. But if it is a "full" exhaust with the headers for an f4i it should be good to go on an f4, you have to do a full exhaust swap. A slip-on will not work.

If I were to get a stock pair of f4i headers, could I do a slip-on then?

Yes.... from what I have read.. search for a post by woot. I think he used an M4 exhaust from an F4i on his F4 with the full system or header and slip on..
