Default Is this dimming normal (video)

Is this dimming normal? Now that it's dark during my daily commute, I've noticed that the dash and headlight dim in time with the indicators (standard filament bulbs all round).

Nothing was mentioned about it during the bikes recent MOT inspection. The battery voltage is 12.3, 14 and a bit engine running; terminals & leads are all clean and bright, and I can see the rectifier is the later type with heatsink fins.

I had the same exact issue with my bike, would start and run fine, system charging as normal, but when I would switch to high beam or trigger the brake light all lights would flicker and even the ignition would cut out for a split second, I cleaned the ground on the frame under the seat and to the left rear of the fuel tank, it's an 8mm headed bolt and it fixed all the issues, might wanna check it as it's a simple and free thing to do. Good luck on your issue, hope this helps.

Thanks everyone, so icy here the bike has been parked since before Xmas. Shaun, do you mean this rusty lead bolt going into the main fuse? AFAIK the FX only has one ground point, disappearing down by the gearbox.

That's your starter relay. Those are not grounds, they are very positive.
