While there is no way i'm going to spend that much for a sticker kit, i do like the look of the nose and tail decals:

I've decided to start up a project to do something similar on my '99, but with black instead of white. I'd like to cut my own nose/tail decals from a solid black sheet, remove some the Honda and F4 decals on the sides and replace them with some racing and company logos in an all black and red scheme.

With my F4 being stock for a while i've been waiting for inspiriation and am excited to get started. I like to cosmetically mod my bikes to get a unique looks and the tail/nose stickers will defenitely add a different look while staying in a 2 tone palette. The one thing i dont really like about the kits above is the 3 color scheme, red/white/black, i do not think they work and want to stick with just 2.

I've ordered what i think i'll need and will post some stuff as i get going!

 

Those are some great graphics allrighty, but the price of entry is a bit high for me (I'm a cheap bastard). I saw some sticker kits on ebay, very similar but without the "shadowed" wing, for about 50$. Search ebay under F4 graphics and you should come up with some hits. You could always buy 2 of the "el-cheapo" non shadowed stickers kits and offset them a bit (posterior/inferior) for the desired effect. They also were selling the small tank graphics FWIW.

I'm currently refinishing ALL my fairings (also on a '99), so I'm interested in any other interesting graphics/stickers that you come across. I'm doing a rattle-can job, but with good quality paints and I'm taking my time (lots of clear coats, wet sanding, etc). I'm leaning towards metal flake silver right now- any other ideas welcome. I'll post pics when I'm done.

 

I've finished pulling off the F4 and Honda decals from the sides and have pulled off the 600F4 stickers from the tail. It already looks really good eliminating all the gray decals. I am waiting on the decals i ordered from xtremedecals.com to arrive. They have a good F4 section and lots of other random decals. I've used them before for my old Suzuki and they provide real good quality and great service. I always seem to wat to modify my orders and they have no problem doing that, the sales guys respond to e-mail in a half an hour tops.

Hopefully they arrive soon and i can get it done within the week, then i'll post some after shots.

 

Well, my plan is half way complete, but i may consider it fully complete for the moment.

After pulling off the side F4, Honda, and the tail 600F4 decals i had intended to replace the side decals with some racing and manufacturer decals and replace the tail decal with a black cutout that would look similar to what the white ones look like in the decal kits posted above. Then i wanted to make a black nose decal that looks like the ones posted above, too.

I put on the manu decals, but am having a hard time with the tail and nose. I didnt think a tail decal like the white one in the kits posted above would be so hard to cut myself from a black sheet, but it is. I cant get it right and it would looks like crap unless i did a really good job.

So, i think i'll leave it for the time being. It isnt much of a change, but i like it. I'm glad to have gotten ride of the gray stickers and am happier with the black/red scheme. Big dreams, but not a big change, lol.
