Crash bungs, where to put them?!
Hello guys, i have a question concerning frame sliders, or crash bungs whatever you want to call them, i'm a bit unsure where i can actually mount them, i know i have to drill the fairing but i'm a bit confused as to where that's even possible, also, off my own topic, but this is the state of my air filter after i go to check it for the first time, i'm sure it's the first time since 1999 aswell :P So yeah my question is where would you guys consider putting them?

I would definetally put a new air filter in lol that one looks rough. But back to the topic, I dont have frame sliders but I believe there are two kinds. Ones that mount to the engine mounts and ones that mount to the frame. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Also I've heard that the ones that mount to the engine mounts have a pattern of braking off if you fall on them. Thats just what I heard, they coud have been talking about some cheapo brand im not sure.
Edit:
PlayfulGod: no-cuts are the ones that break or bend. If you look at the opening in the fairing u can see why you dont want sumtin breaking or bending in that area
Thanks

If you take you fairings off you will seen a engine mounting point n bolt just a lil fwd n below top/back fairing bolt, thats where you mount the frame slider. I used Vortex sliders, once I mounted the bases, I place the fairings back in place n push them against the slider base which left a imprint in the foam backing on the fairing. I then used a hole saw to cut the holes. I will see if I can find pix of when I did mine. You can also do a search on it here and find tons of pix were many of us have done it my way, the laser method, and the silly putty method.
